history

First evidence in the eighth century

769 was "Ufhusin" mentioned in writing for the first time. In the early Middle Ages, Aufhausen was the seat of a high court for the surrounding villages. Later, until 1803, it was the seat of a nursing court as the court of the cathedral chapter of the Regensburg bishopric . The Aufhausen Abbey , consecrated to Maria Schnee, was founded in the late 17th century by the local pastor Johann Georg Seidenbusch . Aufhausen became an independent political municipality in the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria in 1818 .

Incorporations

On April 1, 1971, the previously independent communities Irnkofen, Petzkofen and Triftlfing (until 1870 Hellkofen ) were incorporated.

Population development

Between 1988 and 2018 the community grew from 1456 to 1844 by 388 inhabitants or by 26.7%.

Toni Schmid (CSU / non-party voter) has been the first mayor since March 2020. Before that, Johann Jurgovsky was first mayor from May 1996 to March 2020.

The description of the coat of arms reads: In red a silver sloping bar, which is covered with three vertical blue heraldic lilies; a golden crown on top. The coat of arms has been used since 1983.

Pilgrimage church Maria Schnee
Parish Church of St. Bartholomew and Dionysius
  • Parish Church of St. Bartholomew and Dionysius. It stands in Aufhausen next to the pilgrimage church. The lower storeys of your tower are of Romanesque origin and are made of rubble stones. The choir is late Gothic, the nave is baroque. The choir has a late Gothic star vault and a neo-Gothic high altar from 1889, the pulpit is baroque.
Triftlfing Castle
  • Castle in Triftlfing , Hofmarkschloss , first mentioned in 1287, built by the Lords of Au, later rebuilt in the possession of the Lords of Triftlfing after a fire in 1726.
