Aufhausen is a municipality in the Upper Palatinate district of Regensburg in Bavaria . The community is a member of the Sünching administrative community .

history
First evidence in the eighth century
769 was "Ufhusin" mentioned in writing for the first time. In the early Middle Ages, Aufhausen was the seat of a high court for the surrounding villages. Later, until 1803, it was the seat of a nursing court as the court of the cathedral chapter of the Regensburg bishopric . The Aufhausen Abbey , consecrated to Maria Schnee, was founded in the late 17th century by the local pastor Johann Georg Seidenbusch . Aufhausen became an independent political municipality in the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria in 1818 .
Incorporations
On April 1, 1971, the previously independent communities Irnkofen, Petzkofen and Triftlfing (until 1870 Hellkofen ) were incorporated.
Population development
Between 1988 and 2018 the community grew from 1456 to 1844 by 388 inhabitants or by 26.7%.

The description of the coat of arms reads: In red a silver sloping bar, which is covered with three vertical blue heraldic lilies; a golden crown on top. The coat of arms has been used since 1983.

Churches and castles
- Maria Schnee pilgrimage church in Aufhausen, built in 1736 by master builder Johann Michael Fischer . Since 1672 there has been a small church with a statue of the Virgin, which the then cathedral vicar Johann Georg Seidenbusch brought from Munich . Until 1827 there was also a college of oratorians founded by him. The altarpiece of the Madonna comes from the Dürer School . The name Maria Schnee goes back to a legend about a Roman patrician, whom Maria instructed in a vision to build a church on the site that he would find covered with snow. In the middle of summer he saw a snow-covered hill.
- Parish Church of St. Bartholomew and Dionysius. It stands in Aufhausen next to the pilgrimage church. The lower storeys of your tower are of Romanesque origin and are made of rubble stones. The choir is late Gothic, the nave is baroque. The choir has a late Gothic star vault and a neo-Gothic high altar from 1889, the pulpit is baroque.

- Castle in Triftlfing , Hofmarkschloss , first mentioned in 1287, built by the Lords of Au, later rebuilt in the possession of the Lords of Triftlfing after a fire in 1726.
