The community is located west of Regensburg in the eastern foothills of the Franconian Jura .

history

Reign of Laaber

The community belonged to the rule of Laaber, which the Wittelsbach family had taken over after the Lords of Laaber died out in 1463.

Incorporations

The municipality has not experienced any changes as a result of the municipal area reform. The municipal area was preserved in its entirety. On May 1, 1978, the Laaber administrative community including Deuerling was established. As of January 1, 2014, parts of the disbanded municipality-free area of ​​Pielenhofer Wald on the right of the Naab were incorporated.

Population development

Between 1988 and 2018 the municipality grew from 955 to 1,463 by 508 inhabitants or 53.2%.

mayor

Karl Spangler had been the first mayor of the municipality of Brunn since 1985. His term of office ended on April 30, 2008. On March 2, 2008, Karl Söllner (SPD) was elected as his successor. He took up this position on May 1, 2008. 2nd Mayor is Isabella Walter (SPD), 3rd Mayor Johann Eibl (FWB). The latter two were elected by a majority from the ranks of the local councils at the first meeting of the council on May 9, 2008. In the local elections on March 15, 2020, Söllner was re-elected with 90.37% of the vote.

Municipal council

The municipal council has 12 members. In the local elections on March 15, 2020, 835 of the 1,117 residents eligible to vote in the municipality of Brunn exercised their right to vote, bringing the turnout to 74.75 percent.

Culture and sights

Sports and clubs

The local gymnastics and sports club is committed to popular sport. It includes the football, table tennis and skiing departments. There are also other clubs.

Two volunteer fire brigades provide fire protection and general help in the municipality and beyond.

Regular events

The Frauenberger Kirchweih takes place every year on the second weekend in September. In addition to setting up the kirta tree and running the kirta, there are stands for sweets and toys.

The daily newspaper is the Mittelbayerische Zeitung from Regensburg. There is also the weekly newspaper and the official gazette of the Laaber administrative community, to which Brunn belongs.

Public facilities

The community maintains a construction yard, an excavated earth dump and sewage treatment plants. The Frauenberg Church runs a Catholic kindergarten in Eglsee.

education

The pupils attend the elementary and middle school in Laaber, the secondary school or the grammar school is in Parsberg.
