Community structure

There are 27 districts:

Incorporations

In 1946 the previously independent municipality of Kleinprüfening was incorporated. On July 1, 1972, the municipality Sinzing was created in the course of the municipal reform by amalgamating the formerly independent municipalities of Sinzing, Viehhausen, Eilsbrunn and Bergmatting.

Population development

Between 1988 and 2018 the municipality grew from 5,700 to 7,390 by 1,690 inhabitants or 29.7%.

history

Sinzing was first mentioned in a document in 921. The district of Eilsbrunn was first mentioned in 1031 and was almost completely destroyed by the Swedes in the Thirty Years War , as was the castle grounds of Niederviehhausen Castle in Niederviehhausen, of which only the tower still stands. From 1145 to 1966 there was a ferry connection across the Danube near Sinzing , the right of which lay with the monastery checking . Until 1485 this river crossing was part of the Regensburg - Nuremberg trade route . The local history is connected with the noble family of the Sinzinger . Wine was grown on the territory of the municipality until the 17th century. In the 19th century there were numerous mills, several paper mills and a tobacco factory. The high number of workers and their open-mindedness made Sinzing the 'red village' as it was called shortly after 1900. As a result of the many local workers, Sinzing was a stronghold of the Social Democrats. The "red cyclists", an organized group of cyclists that appeared in Sinzing as "Solidarity Sinzing" as a social-democratic group of athletes, were also very active in cultural terms. The dominance of the social democrats in Sinzing continued until the appearance of the NSDAP and until March 22, 1933, when the social democratic mayor Georg Pommer was removed from his office by the NSDAP and replaced by a mayor of the NSDAP. At this meeting, the representative of the district leadership of the NSDAP from Regensburg called on the members of the community council to "henceforth conduct the community business in accordance with the national survey".

The four municipalities that merged to form the new municipality of Sinzing as part of the regional reform in 1972 have developed differently in terms of judicial and manorial relations. In the municipality of parts Bergmatting, Eilsbrunn and Sinzing had the cloister Mark Prüfening large landholdings. This is represented by the coat of arms of the convent - a continuous red cross on a silver background. The parts of the municipality Viehhausen and Eilsbrunn were predominantly owned by noble families. The coat of arms of the barons Rosenbusch was already used in the old municipal coat of arms of Viehhausen. In the coat of arms of the municipality of Sinzing, the talking coat of arms refers to the Rosenbusch family. The medieval family of the Lords of Laber , who played a role in the entire Laber / Danube region , is also represented in the new municipal coat of arms by their coat of arms - divided five times by silver and blue.
