Saxberg is a district of the municipality Sinzing on the district Viehhausen in the district of Regensburg .

The village of Saxberg is located in the southern Upper Palatinate half a kilometer west of Bergmatting . Other nearby places are Schneckenbach in the north-west and Reichenstetten in the south-west. Regensburg is ten kilometers to the east .

The area was already inhabited by people in the Stone Age. 500 m southwest of the village was an approximately three hectare large open-air station from the Paleolithic and Mesolithic, the underground remains of which are protected as a ground monument.
In the 1810s, the Bavarian original cadastre does not record a closed settlement there, but rather five to eight scattered individual farms with impressive farm areas and forests under the name Sachsberg .
On July 1, 1972, Saxberg came as part of the regional reform in Bavaria by incorporating the municipality of Viehhausen into the greater municipality of Sinzing.
