Also known under the name New Dobrilugk monastery Bledzew ( Blesen ) is a former Cistercian abbey in Poland . It was located about 10 km northwest of the city of Międzyrzecz (Meseritz), on the Obra, in the Lubusz Voivodeship , powiat Międzyrzecki .

history

Bledzew Monastery was founded in 1259 and was settled by the mother monastery Dobrilugk in Brandenburg from the line of Volkenroda in Thuringia, which in turn is derived from the primary abbey Morimond via Kamp (Altencamp) . In 1239 the Dobrilugk monastery built a grangie near Semmeritz (Polish: Zemsko) east of the Oder, from which the independent subsidiary Neu-Dobrilugk was created between 1259 and 1286, first in Stary Dworek, then in Zemsko. Around 1407 it was moved to Bledzew (Blesen) and abolished in 1836. Bledzew and Stary Dworek form the base of a triangle, the eastern tip of which is in Zemsko. The distances are only a few kilometers.

Buildings and plant

The monastery and church were demolished in 1840.
