The Boulancourt (Bullencuria) monastery was a Cistercian abbey in the commune of Longeville-sur-la-Laines in the Haute-Marne department , Grand Est region , in France , around eleven kilometers west of Montier-en-Der .

history

The monastery was founded in 1095 and joined the Cistercian order in 1150 in the filiation of Clairvaux Monastery . Unusually for the Cistercian order (see, however, Obazine Monastery / Coyroux Monastery ) the nunnery Boulancourt (Lieu des Dames) was built nearby as early as 1152 ( double monastery ). During the French Revolution , the monastery came to an end in 1791. As a result, the system has completely disappeared.

Buildings and plant

A statue of the Virgin Mary is now in Montier-en-Der. In Arsonval near Bar-sur-Aube is the Hurtebise farm, a former grangie of the monastery.
