The Larrivour Monastery (Notre-Dame d l'Arrivour; Ripatorium) is a former Cistercian abbey in the commune of Lusigny-sur-Barse in the Aube department , Grand Est region , in France , around 17 km east of Troyes , on the edge of the forest of Orient (Forêt de l'Orient) at the bar .
history
The monastery was founded in 1140 under the protection of the Count of Champagne Thibaud II as the daughter of the Clairvaux Primary Abbey . Alan of Auxerre became the first abbot . The monastery prospered, was destroyed in the Hundred Years War , but recovered again. In Troyes it had a branch on Rue de Molesme. From the monastery, which was dissolved in the French Revolution in 1791, there are only small remains of manor buildings and the Grangie Champigny.
Buildings and plant
The photo by Stephen Tobin shows the remains of the wall, probably the surrounding wall, partly in stone and partly in brickwork. A mill and a sheepfold have been preserved.
