The Monastery Les Pierres (Beata Maria de Petris) is a former Cistercian abbey in the town of Sidiailles in the Cher department , Region Center-Val de Loire , in France , around 8 km south of Culan and 20 km northwest of Montlucon .
history
The monastery, founded in 1149, was a subsidiary of the Aubepierre monastery from the filiation of the Clairvaux primary abbey . The monastery was sacked in 1569 and 1650. The monastery came to an end in 1791 during the French Revolution .
Buildings and plant
Few remains of the walls of the church and other buildings have been preserved in the “Val Horrible”. A statue (Virgin and Child) from the 13th century has entered the church of Saint-Saturnin .
