history
The monastery was founded in 1137 with the support of the Barons von Donzy as a daughter of the Pontigny Primary Abbey . It was looted and destroyed during the Wars of Religion in 1567 and disbanded in the French Revolution . Today there are only insignificant ruins and the mill from the 13th century. However, the grangie and cellar of Saint-Loup still exist, as well as the abbots' castle from the 15th century.
