Schillingsfürst monastery
The monastery Schillingsfürst is a former convent of the Franciscan in Schillingsfürst in Middle Franconia in the Diocese of Bamberg .
history
The monastery consecrated to the Holy Cross was founded in 1673 by Christian and Ludwig von Hohenlohe and was initially a hospice, then a convent from 1687 . It belonged to the Thuringian Franciscan Province ( Thuringia ) and was dissolved in 1822 as a result of secularization . The church and monastery building were preserved. The church became the parish church, the parsonage, the boys' school and a teacher's apartment were housed in the monastery buildings.
