The Klotzbach , also called Oberer Mühlbach and formerly Heubach , is a brook near Heubach in the Ostalb district . It is an almost nine kilometers long left and south tributary of the Rems .

The Klotzbach arises from the confluence of the Beurener Bach and the Tumbach south of Heubach . Some see the Beurener Bach only as the upper reaches of the Klotzbach. At Heubach he picks up the Hirschbach coming from Rosenstein . After initially heading north, the Klotzbach bends to the left shortly before reaching the southern outskirts of Böbingen , only to flow into the Rems a little later in Böbingen, west of Klotzbachstrasse .

Flood protection

The Klotzbach regularly overflowed its banks until the 1970s, most recently on June 23, 1975. The Klotzbach gilding, carried out from 1975 onwards, has since prevented further floods.
