The Kluane Glacier is a glacier of the Kluane Icefield in the east of the Elias Range in the Canadian Yukon Territory .
The approximately 35 km long and an average of 2 km wide Kluane Glacier is located within the Kluane National Park . The glacier's nutrient zone is located on the southern flank of Fram Peak at an altitude of over 2800 m , the lower end of the glacier is at an altitude of 1400 m . The glacier initially flows east and turns north after about 15 km. It feeds the Donjek River , whose water flows over the White River and Yukon River . 23 km downhill from the Kluane glacier is the glacier tongue of Donjek glacier .
Glacier development
Moraines in the Donjek valley above the Donjek glacier indicate that the Kluane glacier reached this point about 5000 years ago.
