Klus (chapel)

A Klus is the name for an old, small chapel . Like a farmhouse, it was often built in half-timbered construction . This is a Low German form of Klause , Klausur .

A medieval Klus was the Oppenweher Klus in Oppenwehe , a district of Stemwede , which was reconstructed true to the original at the location of the old Klus on a scale of 1: 2 in 2004 as part of the 775th anniversary of the first mention of Oppenwehe. You can still visit a restored Klus from 1818 in Frotheim , a district of Espelkamp . Klus Ed seine is located in the Warburger Land . There are other Kluskapellen in Spaden , Goslar . and in Pömbsen, a district of Bad Driburg .
