The Knížecí stolec ("Prince's seat") is a 1236 m high mountain in the Salnau Mountains ( Želnavská hornatina ) in the southern part of the Bohemian Forest , located in the Boletice military training area . After the Hochficht ( Smrčina ), the Fuchwiese is the second highest mountain in the Krumau region ( okres Český Krumlov ). The Fuchswiesenberg culminates with a massive plateau made of granite rock. The neighboring mountain is the slightly lower Lissiberg.

geology

The mountain consists of granite, especially hornblende granite and oligoclase granite. The Fuchswiesenberg is part of a pluton that penetrated the Křišťanov granulite massif of the Gföhler unit in the south-western flank of the Moldanubic 350 million years ago .

Access

The Fuchswiesenberg became inaccessible to the public through the establishment of the Boletice military training area in the area with depopulated, formerly German-settled villages . In autumn 2011, a new hiking trail with blue markings was laid out on the summit, which has been allowed to be used on weekends and holidays since July 2012. In 2012, an 8 meter high wooden observation tower was inaugurated on the summit, from which the Alps can also be seen when visibility is excellent. The neighboring mountains of the Fuchswiesenberg are the Lissiberg ( Lysá ) in the east, the Skalky in the west and the Totenkopf ( Umrlčí hlava ) in the southwest.
