Pops guys is a German Sketch - comedy - series for the first time in April 2017 Sat.1 aired. It is the first own sketch comedy by Antoine Monot, Jr. and is considered the male counterpart to Martina Hill's great women .

At the Screenforce Days on June 21, 2017, Sat.1 announced that the broadcast would be continued for a second season. This ran from November 17, 2017 to March 24, 2018.

As part of the program presentation of the station Sat.1, the station announced in July 2016 that two new sketch comedy series with the titles Rabenmütter and Knallerkerle had been commissioned. From around 1,800 sketches, 180 sketches were shot and produced for the first season from October to November 2016. The film was directed by the leading actor Antoine Monot, Jr. himself and Jens Holzgreve. While Monot also worked as a creative producer , Sebastian Benthues was executive producer .

For the second season, around 250 skits were selected from over 1,200 skits and these will be shot and produced in September and October 2017. Antoine Monot, Jr., among others, took on the direction again himself. He also worked again as a creative producer.

Broadcast
In March 2016, Sat.1 announced that the first six-part season will be broadcast from April 14, 2017 at 10:30 p.m. While the first three episodes had different lead-ins , the last three episodes served as lead-out from the new comedy quiz show Luke! The school and me - VIPs versus kids .

The second season, which this time includes eight episodes, is to be broadcast from October 27, 2017.

The sketch comedy was broadcast on pay TV from April 15 to May 20, 2017 on Saturdays at 8:15 p.m. on Sat.1 emotions .

In addition, all episodes are available online after their first broadcast on the streaming provider maxdome and in the Sat.1 media library.

In mid-May 2017, Studio 71 launched its own YouTube channel for the sketch show Knallerkerle under the title of the same name, which currently has more than 16,000 subscribers and over 2.5 million video views.
