Servant with horse and maid with bull
Servant with horse and maid with bull or ox and horse is a monument in Münster .
history
The rustic monument was created in 1912 by Carl Hans Bernewitz as a tribute to the rural population who visited the rural metropolis, for example to do business. The meaning was similar to the Kiepenkerl .
In the 1960s, however, the monument was brought down from its 2-meter-high base on the central access road and, misjudging its perspective, was placed on a 30-centimeter base in front of Stadthaus II. Because of the onset of vandalism, it was temporarily secured with a building grid. In 1987 the statues, which were raised again, were placed on Ludgeriplatz as part of the Sculpture Project , based on the idea of the Swiss artist Rémy Zaugg .
