The Kochbachtalbrücke is a 150 m long and 14 m high railway bridge on the high-speed line between Cologne and Rhine / Main . The structure is located at kilometer 43 in the Aegidienberg district of the North Rhine-Westphalian city ​​of Bad Honnef .

The six-span structure adjoins the south portal of the Kluse trough structure to the south . It spans the Kochbach , a left tributary of the Quirrenbach .

The bridge route describes a left curve in a southerly direction, the gradient rises continuously in this direction.

To the south, after a short above-ground section, the Rottbitzetunnel follows .

planning

According to the planning status from the end of 1995, the structure was planned to be 165 m long.

The planning for the structure was modified in the context of the " Konsenstrasse " decided in 1997 .

At the end of 1997 the planned length was 150 m. The structure was later realized with this length.

construction

The structure was built using a rolled-girder-in-concrete construction method.

The bridge was damaged on June 23, 2001 in the fire of a construction locomotive as a result of an accident.
