The KOCKS Krane GmbH is an engineering company in Bremen . The sole shareholder is Kirow Ardelt GmbH in Leipzig , which is part of the Leipzig-based Kranunion GmbH (formerly Kirow Group ). The traditional company, founded in 1872, is considered a pioneer in the development of container cranes in Europe and is the world market leader for so-called Goliath cranes ( shipyard portal cranes ).

The company was managed by Uwe Pietryga and Bernd Flaskamp until 2014. The new managing directors are Uwe Grünhagen and Heinz Lindecke (authorized signatory). According to the company, the 100 employees generate annual sales of 40 to 50 million euros in March 2009.

The most important products include container gantries, ship unloaders and shipyard gantry cranes (Goliath cranes). The company specializes in moving heavy loads under extreme operating conditions for ports and shipyards. Since the 1989 takeover of Krupp Fördertechnik in Wilhelmshaven (formerly Krupp Ardelt), it has been the world market leader for Goliath cranes.
