The Koenig Valley is an ice-free valley in East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Asgard Range , it is east of Mount Thor .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1976 after Ervon R. Koenig, scientific director of the McMurdo station in the Antarctic winter of 1972 and station director in the Antarctic summer months between 1973 and 1974 and from 1974 to 1975.
