Kofi Dsane-Selby

Kofi Dsane-Selby (* 24. July 1931 ) is a Ghanaian diplomat in retirement .

Life

From 1961 to 1963 Dsane-Selby was employed as a doctor at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi . From 1962 to 2001 he was a resident doctor in Kumasi. Between 1983 and 2001 he was an attending physician at Bimpeh Hill Hospital in Kumasi. From 1966 to 1969 he was President of the Ghana National Cultural Center and Head of the State Pharmaceutical Corporation of Ghana . He was also from 1966 to 1969 and 1978 to 1982 city council in Kumasi.

From 1969 to 1972 Dsane-Selby was ambassador in Paris ( France ) and at the same time accredited in Madrid. He was Ghana's representative at the World Medical Association : 1976 in São Paulo , Brazil, 1977 in Dublin , Ireland, 1978 in Manila , Philippines and 1979 in Caracas , Venezuela.

From 1979 to 1981 he was the first treasurer of the Confederation of African Medical Associations and Societies (CASMA).

From 1981 to 1984 Dsane-Selby was President of the Ghanaian Medical Association. In 1983 he was Ghana's representative at the Commonwealth Medical Association in Trinidad and Tobago .

Between November 2001 and January 2006 he was ambassador in Rome to the governments of Italy , Zagreb ( Croatia ), Athens ( Greece ), Ljubljana ( Slovenia ), Ankara ( Turkey ) and permanent representative of Ghana to the UN agencies in Rome of the United Nations World Food Program and International Fund for Agricultural Development .
