Koharu Yonemoto
Koharu Yonemoto ( Japanese 米 元 小春 , Yonemoto Koharu ; born December 7, 1990 in Hiroshima Prefecture ) is a Japanese badminton player .
Career
Yonemoto is from Hiroshima Prefecture and has an older brother and sister. She attended Danbara Elementary School in the Minami District of Hiroshima . During this time, at the age of 9, she came to play badminton through her parents. She later attended Midorimachi Middle School in this district and then Yamada High School in Aomori , northern Japan , which her future teammates Eriko Hirose and Kaori Imabeppu , as well as Mizuki Fujii and Reika Kakiiwa also attended . At the Japanese Inter-High High School Championships in 2007 she had her first major success when she reached 3rd place in doubles. In the next year she was able to achieve this placement again and even came 2nd at the Badminton High School Championships.
After finishing school, she joined the Sanyo company on April 1, 2009 and played for their factory team or, after Panasonic took over the company in 2011, for their factory team.
Koharu Yonemoto was fifth in the 2008 Junior World Championships and won the North Shore City International. In 2010 she finished second at the Russia Open. In 2011 she won the Austrian International and the New Zealand Open. In the Japan Super Series 2011 , however, it was only ninth place.
