Yuriko Miki

Yuriko Miki ( Japanese 三 木 佑 里 子 , Miki Yuriko ; born October 1, 1989 in Saitama Prefecture ) is a Japanese badminton player .

Life

Miki is from Saitama Prefecture and has two younger sisters. She started playing badminton when she was 9 years old. After she attended Fuji Middle School in Shizuoka Prefecture , Koshigaya- Minami High School followed again in Saitama. During this time she had her first big success when she won gold in singles and doubles at the Japanese Junior Championships in 2006. A year later, she took 3rd place in the individual at the Inter-High High School Championships.

After finishing school, she joined the Sanyo company on April 1, 2008 and played for their factory team or, after Panasonic took over the company in 2011, for their factory team.

Yuriko Miki finished second in the Russia Open in 2010 in women's doubles with Koharu Yonemoto . In 2011 she won the Austrian International and the New Zealand Open. In the Japan Super Series 2011 , however, it was only ninth place.
