Koibatek District

Koibatek District was a district in the Kenyan province of Rift Valley . The capital of the district was Eldama Ravine . In 1999, 138,000 people lived in the district on 2306 km². In 1995 the Koibatek District was split off from the Baringo District . As part of the 2010 constitution , the Kenyan districts were dissolved. The area is now part of Baringo County .

The people in the Koibatek District made a living mainly from agriculture and livestock. There were 211 preschools, 149 primary schools , 22 secondary schools, and five secondary schools. The district had 36 health facilities, including 13 pharmacies. Child mortality was 6.3% in 2001, eight percent of children died before their 5th birthday.
