Coconut bread
Kokosbrood ( Dutch for coconut bread) is a Dutch bread topping that consists mainly of coconut .
In the past, Kokosbrood was made as a loaf in small businesses and sliced in the shop, today it is mainly available pre-cut and packaged in supermarkets.
In addition to coconut , the ingredients are mainly wheat starch , glucose , glucose syrup , sugar , gelatine and table salt .
Kokosbrood is available in different flavors, each with a characteristic color, white, pink, yellow or brown.
The white coconut brown has the natural color of the ingredients, the pink version uses carmine as a coloring agent, the yellow version curcumin or lutein , the brown version is colored with cocoa .
