The Koksetna River is a left tributary of the Chulitna River in southwestern Alaska .
The 80 km long Koksetna River has its source in the western Neacola Mountains at an altitude of 900 m . The headwaters are located 30 km northwest of Lake Clark . Fishtrap Lake, traversed by the Little Mulchatna River , is 12 km to the east. The Koksetna River initially flows in a southwesterly direction. Halfway it turns south and later south-east. It eventually flows into the Chulitna River, which flows eastwards . The Koksetna River drains an area of 971 km².
