history

The Yeshiva Kol Torah was founded in 1939 by Rabbi Jechiel Michel Schlesinger (1898–1948) and Rabbi Boruch Kunstadt, an Orthodox judge from Fulda . It was the first Charedic yeshiva to teach in the Hebrew language , in contrast to the Yiddish used at the time in the yeshivot of the Hasidim. This innovation had the crucial support of the Chazon Ish . After Rabbi Schlesinger's death in 1949, the yeshiva led Rabbi Schlomo Salman Auerbach until his death in 1995.

Rabbi Moshe Yehuda Schlesinger, the founder's eldest son, is currently head of the yeshiva. Kol Torah currently has over 1,000 students.
