The Kolksee is located about two kilometers southeast of Schellhorn near Preetz in the Schleswig-Holstein district of Plön in Germany , about 300 meters east of the Lanker See .

The nutrient-rich, calcareous lake is part of a six-hectare FFH area in a channel of Weichselian young moraine landscape of Holstein Switzerland .
