The Columbussee is a lake northeast of the village of Plötzky, belonging to Schönebeck (Elbe) in Saxony-Anhalt . The city of Gommern is located north of the lake .

The lake, which is surrounded by forest, was created as a result of the quarrying of quartzite rock . In 1932, however, the mining was stopped. The lake in the Plötzky district reaches a depth of up to 30 meters and has a surface of around 10,000 m². A local recreation area was created in the vicinity of the lake, which is mainly characterized by permanent camping and arboreal properties .

In the vicinity there are various other small lakes ( Königsee , Edersee ), which also go back to old quarries.
