Kometsubu Jima (from Japanese こ め つ ぶ じ ま Kometsubu-shima , German ' rice cake island' ) is a small island off the Prince Harald coast of the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . It is located 12 km west-southwest of Cape Koyubi in the Langhovde area .
Japanese scholars named them descriptively in 2008 after their shape.
