Electrolyrik command

Kommando Elektrolyrik is an artist collective that combines German-language literature with electronic music.

history

The artist collective Kommando Elektrolyrik emerged at the beginning of 2008 from the authors' group Kommando Typewriter , with which the authors Arne Hirsemann, Ivo Theele and Patrick Pieper have already performed throughout Germany in reading stage format. After the musician Lukas Schlaffke joined the group, the group reoriented itself artistically and from then on combined modern German literary forms with live electronic music as Kommando Elektrolyrik . The performance character of literature in particular was now in the foreground during the performances. Ivo Theele said in an interview that for the group the main objective is to "write literature related to society and then bring it to the stage in innovative, entertaining formats."

With the combination of literature and live electronic music, Kommando Elektrolyrik quickly reached a wider audience: Since 2009, numerous appearances have followed, including a. at the International Literature Festival Bremen , the Festival Literaturk in Essen as well as in the Literaturhaus Hamburg and the Prague Literaturhaus of German-speaking authors . At the end of 2010 the artist collective brought out their first sound carrier Status changed with Gonzo-Verlag in Mainz. At the beginning of 2011 they were awarded the star of the year by the Neue Westfälische Zeitung for their "successful redefinition of literature" . The group was funded by the institutions Initiative Musik and Create.Music-Owl for various tours and music videos .

While the group's appearances were initially limited to German-speaking countries, they were also discovered by the Goethe-Institut in 2011 . In summer 2011, as part of the celebrations for the 20th anniversary of the German-Polish Neighborhood Agreement for the Foreign Office and the Goethe Institute, they performed in a total of ten Polish cities; Tours with performances and workshops in Norway, Denmark, Iceland, Poland, Slovakia and most recently South Africa followed.
