The Kommunale Arbeitsgemeinschaft Bergisch Land eV , or KAG Bergisch Land for short , is a registered association of several Bergisch municipalities and districts, founded with the purpose of jointly representing interests . The club is based in Solingen .
history
In 1949 an informal association of municipalities and districts in the Bergisch Land was officially reformed into the Bergisch Land municipal working group . Since then, the collaboration has consolidated; the members stayed in close contact. The efforts of the working group contributed significantly to the development of the following institutions and traditions:
- University of Wuppertal
- Technical Academy Bergisch Land
- Bergisches Studieninstitut
- Bergisches Choir Festival
- Bergisch-Märkischer Verkehrsverband
- Radio Berg and local time Bergisch Land
- Bergisches MP meeting in Altenberg
tasks
The working group does not act as a regulatory body. Her main task is to provide political and strategic advice in all relevant areas. This includes education, business, tourism, culture and communication of exemplary projects. The aim here is to overcome the impact of the historical boundaries between the administrative districts of Düsseldorf and Cologne , which separate the Bergisches Land. The aim is also to strengthen the self-confidence in the mountains, especially towards the neighboring Ruhr area and the major cities of Düsseldorf and Cologne .
Members
In addition to the guest member Düsseldorf , the association consists of seven members:
