Hermann-Josef Tebroke (* 19th January 1964 in Rhede , Westphalia ) is a German business economist and politician of the CDU .

Tebroke grew up in Bocholt - Stenern in the western Münsterland. There he went to the Liebfrauen elementary school from 1970 to 1974. From 1974 to 1983 he attended the private St. Josef-Gymnasium of the Capuchins in Bocholt, where he obtained the general higher education entrance qualification. 1983–1988, he studied business administration at the University of Münster with a degree in business administration. From 1986 to 1987 he was employed as a student assistant at the Chair of Financing at the University of Münster.

From 1988 to 1992 Tebroke was a research assistant at the Chair of Financing at the University of Münster. There he was promoted to Dr. rer. pole. PhD with a dissertation on the topic of "Size and merger success of cooperative banks". From 1992 to 1998 he worked as a research assistant at the University of Münster at the Chair of Finance and at the University of Augsburg at the Chair for Finance and Banking. Here he completed his training with the Dr. rer. pol habil. with a thesis on the topic: "Measures and influencing factors of the performance of credit institutions". From 1998 to 1999 he held lectureships and deputy professorships at the universities of Augsburg, Essen and Münster. A professorship for general business administration at the HWP / Hamburg University for Economics and Politics followed from 1999 to 2001. He then held the professorship for business administration, in particular finance and banking management, at the University of Bayreuth until 2004 .

Hermann-Josef Tebroke was elected full-time mayor of Lindlar in the Oberbergischer Kreis in 2004. In his election he was able to unite 60 percent of the votes. Since 2004 he has also been a member of the CDU. In 2009 he won re-election with over 80 percent of the vote.

On November 20, 2011, Tebroke was elected District Administrator of the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis . In his election he received 50.91% of the vote. He took up his post on January 1, 2012, for which he was elected until the end of 2017.

On 24 September 2017 he entered as a candidate of the CDU for the constituency Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis for parliamentary elections in 2017 to. He was directly elected as a member of the German Bundestag with 40% of the first votes . He became the successor to Wolfgang Bosbach . As a result, he gave up his office as district administrator in October 2017.
