Norbert Mörs (born November 4, 1955 in Gelsenkirchen ) is a German local politician ( CDU ).

Norbert Mörs was born in Gelsenkirchen-Buer as the son of the master baker Paul Mörs and the businesswoman Anneliese Mörs. He graduated from high school in 1975 at the Leibniz Gymnasium in Gelsenkirchen-Buer. From 1975 to 1981 he studied law at the Ruhr University Bochum and the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn and graduated in 1981 with the 1st state examination. After the legal preparatory service u. a. With positions at the district court of Gelsenkirchen, the administrative court of Gelsenkirchen and the city of Dorsten, the 2nd state examination followed in 1985.

From 1985 to 1986 Norbert Mörs was a member of the government council of the Düsseldorf district government and from 1987 to 1989 the district councilor of the Recklinghausen district administration. Norbert Mörs is married and has three sons and a daughter.

Norbert Mörs ran for the CDU Gelsenkirchen as mayor candidate in August 2009. He lost the election significantly with only 19.4% of the vote against incumbent Frank Baranowski ( SPD ), who received 63.9% of the vote. The CDU received 22.5% of the votes for the city council, the SPD 50.4% and thus the absolute majority.
