Herbert Klein (politician, 1903)

Herbert Klein (born June 24, 1903 in Wilhelmshaven , † June 25, 1978 in Lugano ) was a German lawyer, civil servant and Christian Democratic politician.

Life

Klein studied law and, after completing his traineeship and assessor's time, was a lawyer in Cologne from 1930. Between 1954 and 1968 he was police chief in Düsseldorf.

Klein had been a member of the CDU since 1945. He was a member of the appointed state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia in 1946 and 1947 and then until 1954 directly elected member of the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis (South).

Between 1946 and 1948 he was also the district administrator and member of the city council of Porz .

In 1968 he received the Federal Cross of Merit, 1st class.
