Rolf Menzel (born May 28, 1955 in Lindlar-Brochhagen ) is a German local politician ( CDU ). From 2004 to the end of 2011 he was district administrator in the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis .

Life

Menzel's professional activity began in 1970 with an internship at the district administration in Bergisch Gladbach . This was later followed by an apprenticeship, which ended in 1975 with a degree in administrative management (FH). For 14 years he worked in various functions for the district administration, most recently as head of municipal supervision . In 1989 he was appointed alderman in the municipality of Kürten . In 1994 he was briefly managing director of the Bergische Wertstoff -ammlunggesellschaft in Engelskirchen . In 1995 he returned to the public service as head of the finance department at the City of Leverkusen . In 1997 he was appointed managing director of the waste management company Leverkusen (AWL) in Leverkusen. With the merger of AWL and the Bergischer waste management association to form AVEA, Menzel became one of two AVEA managing directors in 2002. After his first tenure as district administrator in the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis from 2004 to 2009, he was re-elected for six years in the local elections on August 30, 2009 . Menzel resigned from his position on December 31, 2011 and became Managing Director of Energieversorgung Leverkusen (EVL) on January 1, 2012 .

Rolf Menzel has been a member of the CDU since 1994. He is the father of two grown children.
