Josef Roesch

Josef Roesch (born August 25, 1902 in Cologne , † September 30, 1969 in Langenfeld ) was a German politician ( center and CDU ).

Life and work

After attending primary school and the Friedrich Wilhelm grammar school , he first studied business administration and then law in Cologne. During his studies he joined the Catholic student association WKSt.V Unitas Rheinmark in 1921 , where he made special efforts to represent the Catholic student associations in (university) politics. After working in the legal service and in industry, he was co-owner and managing director of an industrial company. From 1925 to 1933 Roesch was a member of the Center Party . In 1945 he joined the CDU. On September 30, 1969, Roesch had a fatal accident on the autobahn. He was married and had two children.

From July 5, 1950 to July 23, 1966 Roesch was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia . He was directly elected in the constituencies 027 Rhein-Berg Kreis-Nord and 026 Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis-Süd.

From 1948 to 1969 he was a member of the district assembly of the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis and from 1953 to 1969 a member of the landscape assembly of the Rhineland Regional Council.

From November 1948 to November 1958 Roesch was District Administrator of the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis . From 1951 to 1958 he was chairman of the board of the district assembly of North Rhine-Westphalia .
