The community Jesu Weg is an evangelical community in Stadtlauringen . She is also known as the "Craheimer Sisters". The community is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bavaria (ELKB); Catholic and free church religious sisters also live in it. There are close contacts to the Franziskushof and to Catholic religious orders . They have not been wearing a religious costume since 1998 .

history

In 1973 the Methodist deaconess Lore Scheurer, who previously worked at the parent company in Wuppertal , moved with five other deaconesses to Craheim Castle . Their motto was: “We wanted to pray more intensely”. This gave rise to the decision to found a deeper spiritual community. Until 1998 the sisters lived in Craheim Castle, the center of life for Christian unity . In 1999 they moved into their own nurses and retreat house . Here they also have a few guest rooms. However, two sisters stayed in Craheim Castle and continue to work in the Christian day center. The togetherness with the sisters in the new mother house, the sisters in the castle and the Catholic Franziskushof is guaranteed by belonging to the “Ecumenical Service eV”, the sponsoring association. The community of the "Jesu Weg Sisters" currently consists of six women between 31 and 75 years of age. Sister Dr. Elisabeth Stahlschmidt.

Mission and Spiritual Life

A special characteristic of the Jesu-Weg-Sisters is their ecumenical openness. Your day will be marked by shared and personal prayer . The sisters see their whole life as a service to people and show great hospitality. The range of tasks extends to the implementation of retreats , the provision of temporary life in the monastery and the holding of silence and meditation seminars .
