Compact procedure psychological stress

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Against the background of the risk assessment of the workplaces of their employees prescribed for companies, the compact procedure Psychological Stress (KPB) was developed by the ifaa - Institute for Applied Work Science for the area of the psychological stress to be assessed . In an empirical study it was found that the KPB complies with the requirements of DIN EN ISO 10075-3 , a standard for procedures for collecting and evaluating psychological workload.

The KPB is an instrument for the prevention of relationships required in occupational safety . It is a so-called condition-related procedure with which psychological stress factors are ascertained in an observation interview and then assessed. The procedure is also listed for the tools for risk assessment of the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (BAuA).

background

Occupational health and safety requires a preventive assessment of the psychological stress in the workplace. Procedures for determining psychological stress are not specified, but can be selected by the company. Since the employer has a choice here, the selection of a method for assessing psychological stress in the company is subject to co-determination . If the company does not have its own specialists involved in the selection, external consultants can be called in in practice if necessary.

The KPB is already mentioned in 2000, the BAuA states 2002 as the year of origin. The procedure is an instrument that meets the requirements with manageable effort and can be used by trained employees, as an empirical study under the direction of Rainer Tielsch from the Bergische Universität Wuppertal with regard to the measurement properties and practicability of the KPB showed.

In the course of the study, it was also determined that the requirements for orienting procedures according to DIN EN ISO 10075-3 are met.

Structure of the KPB

The KPB focuses on the conditional aspects of work design, especially work organization . Employees' strategies for coping with workloads are not taken into account. The KPB is therefore purely job-related. The application of the KPB is embedded in five steps:

  1. Collection of operational data, such as existing surveys, absenteeism statistics, fluctuations, accidents, complaints, addictions, etc. as well as their clustering according to a given table,
  2. Orientation using a checklist and then the application of the KPB,
  3. Implementation of additional interviews using a questionnaire,
  4. Evaluation of the data and documentation as well
  5. Deriving measures.

The KPB itself consists of assessment tables in which a number of items are examined according to "applicable" or "not applicable". These are:
