Mohamed Koné (born February 28, 1984 in Abidjan ) is a former Ivorian football player . He ended his active career at the end of 2016.

Career

Mohamed Koné began his career in Thailand at FC Nakhon Sawan , who was then playing in the Thailand Provincial League . With his 14 goals in the 2001 season, he helped win the title in the Provincial League. After only a year he moved to league rivals FC Nakhon Pathom . In 2003, at the age of 19, Koné joined FC Krung Thai Bank . In his first year at the club, he was able to become champions in the Premier League. In both 2004 and 2005 he played with Krung Thai Bank in the AFC Champions League . After two years at Krung Thai Bank , Mohamed moved to Chonburi in 2006. With FC Chonburi he reached the final of the Singapore Cup in the same year and was also champion with this club a year later. In the final of the Singapore Cup, however, Mohamed was suspended because of a red card. In autumn 2008 he returned from Vietnam to Chonburi FC. Under his coach Zico he was a regular player. Together with the team, he also played in the AFC Cup in 2009 . Since July 2009 he has citizenship of the Ivory Coast as well as of Thailand. At the end of the 2009 season, Kone was loaned to Yangon United , Myanmar. There he met Robert Procureur, who works in a double function at Yangon United and Muang Thong United . This was able to convince Mohamed to sign for the 2010 season with Muang Thong United.
