The Konau bei Braudel is a landscape protection area in the Lower Saxon town of Clenze in the municipality of Lüchow (Wendland) in the Lüchow-Dannenberg district .
The landscape protection area with the sign LSG DAN 032 is around 46 hectares in size. It is congruent with the FFH area of the same name . It is largely surrounded by the "Elbhöhen – Drawehn" nature reserve, which has partially merged into the "Konau bei Brauel" nature reserve. To the south it borders on part of the “Drawehn” bird sanctuary . The protected landscape area was designated as of February 21, 2019. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the Lüchow-Dannenberg district.
The conservation area is roughly between Uelzen and Lüchow (Wendland) on the edge of the Elbhöhen – Wendland nature reserve . It places part of the Konau in the west of the Drawehn in the Ostheide under protection. The forest here is formed by an old mixed oak forest of English and sessile oaks . Sand birch , quivering poplar and mountain ash also join . In the herb layer are u. a. Find blueberry and pipegrass . Hainsimsen-Buchenwald stagnates in places . In between, there are also non-natural coniferous forests of spruce, larch and Douglas fir, which are to be developed into mixed forests.
The forest has a high proportion of old and dead wood . It is of great importance as a habitat for various bat and bird species .
The nature reserve is mainly surrounded by other forest areas. In the west and south it borders in places on agricultural areas .
