Koninklijke Roeivereniging Club Gent (KRCG) is a traditional rowing club in Gent / Belgium .
history
The rowing club, founded in June 1871 as Koninklijke Roeivereniging Club Gent , is one of the oldest in Belgium. In addition to numerous victories in national and international regattas , winning the first Olympic silver medal in rowing in 1900 represents a high point in the club's history.
The club's clubhouse is located on the Watersportbaan regatta course .
successes
- Silver in eighth place at the 1900 and 1908 Olympic Games
- Silver in single at the 1912 Olympic Games by Polydore Veirman
- Four gold medals at the Henley Royal Regatta in eighth ( Grand Challenge Cup : 1906, 1908, 1909) and one (1994)
- Gold in eighth at the 2001 Thames Challenge Cup
