Konnevesi is a 189 km² lake in the Finnish landscapes of Southern Savo and Central Finland . The town of the same name Konnevesi is not far from its western bank. The lake flows south over a chain of other lakes to the Päijänne .
The lake consists of two large bodies of water: the Pohjois-Konnevesi in the north and the Konnevesi itself in the south. In between is the island of Pakarilansalo . The Neiturin Canal connects the Pohjois-Konnevesi with Lake Keitele to the west . The Kiesimä Canal connects the Pohjois-Konnevesi with Lake Kiesimä to the east .
The main tributary is the Konnekoski , a rapids over which the eastern Hankavesi flows into the Konnevesi. The Hankavesi catchment area includes several large lakes, including Pielavesi , Nilakka , Iisvesi , Niinivesi and Koskelovesi .
