Keitele is located on the banks of the Nilakka . The lake is fed by the runoff from Lake Pielavesi to the northeast . The water of the Nilakka flows over the rapids Huuhtajankoski and Äyskoski to Lake Rasvanki in the south . The water of the Nilakka finally reaches Lake Päijänne via a number of other lakes, including Iisvesi and Konnevesi . Thus the Nilakka lies in the catchment area of the Kymijoki .
