Konrad Daniel Schumacher

Konrad Arnold Friedrich Daniel Schumacher (born October 24, 1736 in Hameln ; † January 28, 1806 in Bockenem ) was a German Lutheran theologian, consistorial councilor and general superintendent of the general diocese of Bockenem .

Life

Konrad Daniel Schumacher was a son of Pastor Ludwig Schumacher. He attended the grammar school in Lemgo and from 1757 studied classical philology, theology and church history at the University of Göttingen . After completing his studies, he first took up a position as a tutor in the family of the Pufendorf Council. Later he came to the Secret Council of Münchhausen in Moringen. In 1766 he was appointed pastor in Jühnde , in 1771 in Berka . In the following year he was to be added as an adjunct to the ailing general superintendent Friedrich Daniel Lamprecht . When he died in May of that year, Schumacher himself was appointed the first pastor and general superintendent in Bockenem. On September 9, 1772 he was introduced to his office by the general superintendent Friedrich Andreas Crome from Alfeld . A little later he was appointed by the prince-bishop as consistorial councilor in the consistory in Hildesheim.

In 1792 Schumacher published the new hymn book for the evangelical inhabitants of the Principality of Hildesheim together with the general superintendent Illing from Alfeld . After his death in 1806 the General Diocese was dissolved and merged with the General Diocese of Alfeld to form the General Diocese of Hildesheim .
