Conrad IV (Nuremberg)

Konrad IV. (* Around 1220; † 1314 ), according to a different way of counting Konrad II. , Called the Pious , was a Count of Abenberg and came from the Frankish Hohenzollern family .

He was the son of the Nuremberg burgrave Konrad I and his second wife Adelheid, daughter of Heinrich III., Count of Frontenhausen . Conrad IV took over the county of Abenberg after the original count family of the von Abenberg had died there and the property had been bought by the Nuremberg burgraves.

Konrad was married to Agnes († 1319), daughter of Albrecht I, Count of Hohenlohe-Speckfeld . The marriage had seven children:

  • Konrad († 1304), German Order Knight
  • Gottfried († 1318), German knight
  • Agnes († 1318) ∞ (I) Konrad, Count of Öttingen ; (II) Friedrich, Count of Truhendingen
  • Lukardis (1302–1326) ∞ Konrad II. , Count of Schluesselburg
  • Two more daughters

In 1294, Konrad II of Nuremberg and his wife Agnes donated Virnsberg Castle and the property belonging to it for their sons who had entered the Teutonic Order , which became the basis of the Teutonic Order Coming Virnsberg .
