Konrad Wallroth (born January 27, 1933 ) is a former German soccer player. For Turbine Erfurt he played between 1953 and 1961 in the GDR Oberliga , the top division in GDR football . In 1954 and 1955 he was GDR champion.

Athletic career

Konrad Wallroth played until 1953 for the company sports community (BSG) Empor Walschleben below the third-rate district league . In the 1953/54 season he moved to the upper division Turbine Erfurt and came there for the first time on the sixth match day as a substitute for the injured Wolfgang Nitsche as a left winger. In this position he played through to the last day of the match, made 23 league appearances and with his nine goals he was Erfurt's second top scorer. So he had a significant share in winning the championship of SC Turbine Erfurt. When he successfully defended his title in 1954/55, Wallroth was again one of the guarantors of success, because he was only missing in one point game and with twelve goals was again number two in the Erfurt top scorer list.

In the transition round in autumn 1955, with which the calendar year rhythm from 1956 was transitioned, Wallroth was only used seven times in the 13 games. In the seasons 1956 to 1958 he was a reliable figure in the Erfurt team with 68 out of 78 possible point games. In his regular position on the left winger, he scored 13 goals in the three years. In the 1959 season Wallroth got out of step after the eighth game day, after a four-week break he was only called up irregularly, so that at the end of the season he could only book 15 league appearances and remained goalless. The SC Turbine did not find its usual shape either and had to dismount.

Wallroth was involved in the immediate resurgence with 17 out of 26 point games and three goals in the GDR league . At the beginning of his eighth league season he was 28 years old, but fell out of the Erfurt team. This season ran from March 1961 to June 1962 over 39 days, after which GDR football returned to the summer-spring rhythm. Wallroth was in the squad on the first day of the game, but after that he was only used in another five point games until June 1961, he did not score any goals. In his last game of the season he was injured so badly that he had to end his senior league career.

In eight league seasons he had made 143 appearances and scored 34 goals. The GDR league season resulted in 160 championship games and 37 goals.

Wallroth continued his football career at the fifth-class BSG Empor Greußen, where he was able to play again from November 1961. In 1963 he rose with his team in the district league, which had meanwhile become third class again after the second GDR league was closed. From 1965 he was still the player-coach of BSG Empor Greußen for several years.
