Konrad Friedrich Richard Weidling (born September 22, 1861 in Berlin ; † April 21, 1911 ) was a German publisher .

Life

Weidling was the son of the publisher Friedrich Weidling and his wife Caroline Charlotte, b. Schulze. He attended the Königliche Kaiserin-Augusta-Gymnasium in Berlin-Charlottenburg and studied literary and art history in Berlin, Munich , Leipzig and Giessen , later law. In 1885 he received his doctorate in Giessen. From 1888 Konrad Weidling was a partner in the Berlin publishing house Haude und Spener , which belonged to his father; In 1890 he took over the publishing house entirely. In the years that followed, he only added a few new titles to the range of publishers, but primarily continued the successful titles "The Staircase Joke of World History" and " Winged Words ". Weidling was also active in the German Booksellers Association and in the Support Association of German Booksellers and Bookstore Assistants. He has written numerous articles on issues relating to the book trade and also published a history of his own publishing house.
