Konrad von Fußesbrunnen
Konrad von Fußesbrunnen is a Lower Austrian poet of the late 12th century. He was a member of a noble family (son of a Gerung von Fußesbrunnen) resident in today's Feuersbrunn (municipality of Grafenwörth , Lower Austria ) and is documented around 1182 and 1187, respectively.
He is the author of the work "The Childhood of Jesus" composed in 3000 Middle High German rhyming verses . According to the prologue, he was already active as a secular author (cf. v. 82-90); but these texts have not come over us today. The author Konrad von Fußesbrunnen is mentioned again in Wilhelm von Orlens by Rudolf von Ems . No further biographical data are known.
Konrad von Fußesbrunnen was considered (with purely speculative arguments) as the author of the “ Nibelungenlied ”, but this was never seriously discussed in German research.
