Konrad von Thierberg the Younger
Konrad von Thierberg the Younger († after 1287) was a knight of the Teutonic Order .
Life
Konrad the Younger is said to come from the Hohenlohe ministerial family , which borrows its name from Tierberg Castle . Konrad the Elder was his older brother.
He was mentioned in a document in 1273 when he was already with the order. From that year until 1285 and again in 1288 he was Order Marshal . During this time he held the office of Vice State Master in Prussia from 1274 to 1275 and again in 1283 until he was finally land master himself from 1284 to 1288 .
With the victory over the Sudauer he was able to complete the subjugation of Prussia in 1283 and then immediately started the war against the Lithuanians , in which he initiated military expeditions to Vilna and Grodno . During his tenure as landmaster, he also reorganized the conditions of the Polish knights and German feudal men resident in the religious state .
He was instrumental in completing the submission of the Prussians , securing the country, as well as colonization and cultivation .
