Konstantin Jurjewitsch Khabensky
Konstantin Jurjewitsch Chabenski or Khabensky ( Russian Константин Юрьевич Хабенский ; born January 11, 1972 in Leningrad , Soviet Union ) is a Russian entertainer and actor .
life and work
Chabensky was born on January 11, 1972 in what was then Leningrad (Saint Petersburg) in the Soviet Union . As a young man, he first studied aeronautical engineering , but decided that this was not a job for him. In the next time he had many different professions, including street music , until he began training as an actor in 1990.
After gaining experience on numerous theater stages , he landed his first film roles in the mid-1990s. In Russia he became popular as an entertainer and show host, including at the 2004 MTV Russian Music Awards . It was not until 2004 that he became known internationally for the lead role in the fantasy epic Watcher of the Night - Nochnoi Dozor and its sequel Watcher of the Day - Dnevnoi Dozor . In the Russian version of the animated film Madagascar , he spoke the lion Alex.
In 2001 he married his wife Anastasia, with whom he has a son (* 2007). A short time later, his wife was diagnosed with a brain tumor. On December 3, 2008, Anastasia died in a Los Angeles hospital .
For the second time, Khabensky married actress Olga Alexandrovna Litvinova in the summer of 2013. On June 3, 2016, the couple's first child, daughter Alexandra, was born. The second daughter was born in February 2019.
In 2019, Khabensky received the State Prize of the Russian Federation “for outstanding achievements in the field of charitable activities”.
